Celebrant Services

Creating unique & magic moments

for modern couples, weddings and elopements.

About

Kia ora, I am a registered Independent Marriage Celebrant based in Nelson, NZ. I would be honoured to play a role in your special day.

I offer couples a fresh and flexible approach to planning their ceremony and work closely with them to make each wedding personal, memorable and most importantly, enjoyable.

My “love of love” encouraged me to become a celebrant and it is a role that I feel immense privilege in having. My strengths lie within my down-to-earth personality, forward thinking and organisation. I enjoy public speaking and know how to confidently ad-lib with light humour. All my experiences, travel and people I have met in life so far have contributed to my open nature and fun-loving outlook.

Whether it’s a BIG celebration, a backyard wedding or an intimate elopement, I do my best to make sure my celebrant services go beyond merely writing a ceremony. I love to feel connected with my couples and am always willing to embark on a bit of an adventure!

The Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough regions are stunning and offer many picturesque locations for weddings. I’m always happy to travel to wherever your dream ceremony may be held.

If you would like to consider having me as your celebrant,  please contact me for a chat. Let’s make magic memories together.

How it all works:

Send me a little message to see if I am available on your wedding date. After this is established you might want to organise a first meeting to see if we ‘click.’ This can happen in person, on the phone, or over video chat.

During our first meeting my main objective is for us to get to know each other a little better, and to learn what kind of vibe you would like to establish on your wedding day.

After this meeting, a non-refundable deposit will need to be made in order to secure your wedding date.

The fun begins…

I will send you a google form with a list of questions for you to submit, as well as suggested ceremony order, readings, and vows. Once you have had a chance to look through these documents we will set up another meeting to really nail down the structure and tone for your day. Some couples may want a reading in their ceremony, or help writing their vows - these are both aspects I am more than happy to assist with.

No ceremony I write will ever be the same. Each ceremony I start completely fresh, and really try to consider the couples’ vision and wishes. Throughout the drafting process we work together to make sure your ceremony is just as exceptional as you are!

The paperwork…

You will need to apply for your Marriage Licence no earlier than 3 months before your wedding date, and no later than 3 days before. This now can be done entirely online and costs $150.00

Before your ceremony you need to decide who two special people are to act as your witnesses. I will guide all of you through the paperwork so that we have legal and accurate documents in order to register your marriage.

The run-through…

I offer every couple a rehearsal and really encourage them to have one. The best time for a rehearsal is generally the day before, but if/when you have a rehearsal is entirely up to you. A rehearsal normally takes around 1 hour and it is the greatest chance to sort out any worries or questions before your big day.

The Big Day!

I always say to my couples that I like to be really, really organized, so that when the day is upon us, I am then able to be super relaxed. Through our extensive preparation we would have accounted for lots of different situations if they should arise. My down to earth nature will help you to feel at ease on the day, ensuring you are able to enjoy every moment. I do my absolute best to make sure every element of the ceremony is taken care of, and that all important documents are looked after and submitted to the Registrar as soon as possible.

Pricing

Once I am provided details of your wedding I will send you a quote for my services. My fee is intended to represent the quality of service I provide as well as the time and effort that goes into making your perfect ceremony.

As well as the fee there may be some additional costs for transport, accommodation and mic/speaker hireage. I commit to making this aspect as affordable as possible.

Love Letters

“Sian was a wonderful celebrant who made us feel really relaxed on our wedding day. We appreciated the personalised approach she brought to all aspects of our ceremony and we really enjoyed collaborating with her on the content of the ceremony. She is highly organised, fun and genuinely cares about the service she provides. Couldn’t recommend her enough!”

— Sophie & Jeremy.

"Having Sian perform our wedding was the perfect addition to our day. Right from the beginning she made a real effort to get to know us as individuals and as a couple, which meant that the ceremony felt so personal. She had no expectation around what we "should" do, so we could make the day whatever we wanted it to be. Communication through the whole lead up meant that we felt completely at ease, because we knew she had it all under control. The ceremony itself was perfect, we would wholeheartedly recommend Sian to anyone getting married!”

— Lucy & Gadz.

“Sian helped us out far more than we expected she would. As the first of our friends to get married, she helped us find our feet and guide us towards what we wanted from a wedding ourselves. She went above and beyond the role of just a celebrant. Despite how relaxed and how little fuss she made of things, you could really feel how passionate towards marrying us she was. You could tell how happy she was for us through all the positive energy she had throughout every step of the way. On the day and even now, we thank our past selves for choosing her as our celebrant”

— Hamish & Jaz.

“A big, massive thank you for being our celebrant! We are so glad it worked out the way it did, and that we could book you at such short notice. You were amazing in the lead up and on the day, and definitely made us both feel so at ease! Big thank you again from The Carpenters.”

— Hana & Blair.
